Within de wood sector there are not many trade mechanisms present that can lead to a structural improvement of income and responsible wood production for these small-scale concession holders. Fair Tropical Timber BV works on improving and developing the trade of tropical hardwoods produced by small communities in developing countries. Fair Tropical Timber BV works directly together with communities and community based forest enterprises to achieve these objectives.
